I left when I was 18.

If you and your lady are living separately, take this time to move in and really get to know one another before diving headfirst into the rest of your life with her. Figure out her quirks, and decide what drives her crazy about you, then reevaluate whether you are ready to put a ring on it.

Marriage isn’t for everyone, but it’s certainly not for someone who is unwilling to share their things, take on someone else’s debt, hasn’t ever left their hometown, and doesn’t trust their potential life partner. Don’t be discouraged if you fall into this category! If committing the rest of your life to someone sounds like a nightmare, then it probably will be. Save yourself-- and your significant other-- some time, and tell her you aren’t ready for this kind of responsibility.
